The formal investigation into Dr. Michael L. Brown has commenced, inviting those affected to participate via a survey linked in the comments section. This matter must be handled with the utmost seriousness, and any dismissal of the allegations will be moderated based on biblical principles, particularly the call in Micah 6:8 to "do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." However, I and others have serious concerns because of the limited scope of the investigation, which does not look beyond the 2-3 years surrounding two-three incidents and not the 20-30 years of credible abuse stories. Additionally, Dr. Michael Brown is not taking his own advice given to others to stop engaging in ministry while an investigation is engaged, and he is engaging in deception right now on social media, especially Facebook and YouTube, by gaslighting and deleting comments from journalists, victims, and their advocates. All but two of his board members have resigned.

This is not a good sign for justice for all victims of his Clergy Sexual Abuse (aka: Sexual Harassment, Power-Positional Sexual Exploytation that is illegal in 14 states), and Spiritual Abuse (aka: workplace bullying). This leads one to consider the current “investigation” as nothing more than crisis management. It leans toward the image of wolves protecting wolves.

I say this as someone with degrees and experience in Public Relations, Media Relations and Marketing Management (meaning I would be a considered a professional in Crisis Managment, for which I get paid a minimum of $500/hour).

The concept of "doing justly" is central to our faith, and it directly applies to how we respond to allegations of misconduct within church leadership, as seen in the current situation with Dr. Brown. His own Board of Directors has initiated this investigation, acknowledging multiple credible allegations but apparently denying an effort to uphold justice for additional victims.
