A friend who I’ve known for years recently asked me, "Tov, what was the catalyst for you coming to faith in Jesus?"
It struck me that despite our long friendship and his position as a teacher at a respected Bible college, I had never shared this significant part of my spiritual journey with him. Here's how I responded:
I often had conversations with whom I later understood to be Jesus and the Holy Spirit, even before what many would consider it a formal relationship. For me, and perhaps for many Jewish people, this experience isn't typical in the Western Christian sense but resonates more with how some indigenous cultures around the world experience spirituality in a “pre-saved” state.
One June Sunday, while playing outside amidst a whirlwind of white butterflies, I was talking with my unseen friend. I didn't know His name then; to me, He was just my friend, whom my mom humorously referred to as my "invisible friend."
