By Tov Rose, Founder

Abstract:
This article examines the complexities of identity in biblical interpretation, specifically regarding Israel and the church. It analyzes problematic conflations that have led to replacement theology, which wrongly asserts the church has superseded Israel. A close reading reveals crucial distinctions upholding the perpetuity of Jewish identity alongside ingrafted Gentiles. Paul's writings demonstrate sophisticated perspectives that balance ingrafted unity and ongoing distinction between Israel and the church. His complex exegesis models a nuanced hermeneutic that resists oversimplification, upholding God’s multi-layered purposes for both groups. The article explores how to celebrate diverse identities in Christ without cultural appropriation.
