After my first article on "Binding and Loosing" in their Jewish Context, my friend Steven Mark wrote an introduction to it that I think is has some good points added. Steven attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Let me know what you think in the comments?

Steven’s Introduction: “A text removed from its larger context is a pretext; often used to misrepresent the intended meaning of the author. Misinterpreting a passage of Scripture usually leads to an erroneous application of it.

All too often, people will memorize a verse or a selective portion of Scripture thinking it supports what they want it to, and then justifying the lifestyle they choose. Quite often it does, but only because it's taken out of the original context and is only a piece of the whole. It's rather like someone having assembled a 1,200 piece puzzle, giving you just one of the pieces out of the middle or even two from around the outer edge.
